Our favourite YouTube videos featuring Galway (part 3)

Taaffes pub on Shop Street is one of many traditional music pubs in Galway where can wander in and enjoy a great ‘Trad Session’ any night of the week. Others include Tigh Coli (just across the street), the Quays, the Pucan, Monroes and the Crane Bar.

Some great footage of Galway and the west of Ireland from students of the College of Charleston

Galway has some great waterways (thanks to all the rain :)) which means our various waterbased sports clubs such as the NUI Galway Kayak club have never far to go. This video is from the Boluisce river near An Spidéal, a small village in Connemara, just 20km from Galway.

We included a video in a previous post by this great film maker… here’s another his works that captures the atmosphere of Galway

OK, not a YouTube video, but no collection of Galway videos can leave out this Galway icon.

International student ambassadors

Today, we held the first training session for our new International Student Ambassadors.

The ISA programme is run by Education in Ireland and draws on students from the various universities in Ireland.

Our ambassadors were given a great introduction to blogging and video production, which will come in handy for reaching out to prospective international students over the coming weeks and months.

Kelsey Donohue, Ameer Gazder, Siobhan Keenan and Siobhan Allaedinni attended from NUI Galway.

We look forward to seeing their blogs and and videos 🙂
